Pharmaceutical Field (Core Application):

Pharmaceutical Solvent/Cosolvent: Due to its low viscosity and extremely strong solubility, it is an ideal solvent for injections (especially intravenous or intramuscular injections), oral liquids, and syrups. It can significantly improve the solubility of fat-soluble drugs (such as steroid hormones, antineoplastic drugs, and vitamins), reduce drug precipitation, and enhance the stability of preparations. For example, injections of some poorly soluble antibiotics and analgesics often use PEG 300 as a solvent (blending with PEG 400 can adjust viscosity).

Preparation Base: Used as a low-viscosity base or diluent in ointments and creams to adjust the fluidity and spreadability of preparations (often blended with high molecular weight PEG such as PEG 4000 to balance hardness and permeability).

Transdermal Absorption Enhancer: With a small molecular weight, it can assist drugs in penetrating the stratum corneum of the skin, improving the bioavailability of topical administration (such as gels and patches).

Daily Chemicals and Cosmetics:

Used as a humectant, solvent, or conditioner added to skincare products (such as serums, toners, and lotions), perfumes, and makeup:

It can dissolve fragrances and active ingredients (such as plant extracts and antioxidants), preventing ingredient separation or precipitation;

Due to its small molecular weight, it offers mild penetration, quickly replenishes skin moisture, and has low irritation (suitable for sensitive skin or infant products).

Industrial Field:

Used as a low-viscosity leveling agent in coatings and inks to improve the film-forming uniformity of products;

Used as a softening agent in the textile industry to enhance the smooth feel of fabrics;

Used as a lubricant in metal processing to reduce mechanical friction (due to good fluidity, it easily adheres uniformly).
